Firefighting
Firefighting requires a basic set of training, after that we encourage our volunteers to seek out specializations of their own choosing (Swift Water Rescue Team, Ice Recue Team, Low to Medium Angle Rescue, Hazmat Technician ect)
Leadership
Our officers are required to meet the high standards set by FEMA, qualifiers include ICS 400 Certified and maintain 40 hours of training per-year 20 of which are in personnel management. For more information contact us today.
Technical Skills
It’s not just firefighting, we need individuals to drive trucks, operate equipment, extricate patients and manage traffic.
More Than
Fire Fighting.
SBFPD Is always looking for new members but a common question we often receive is “I don’t think I can physically fight a fire, can I still be of service?” Absolutely! There are many ways to serve your community though SBFPD, we are always in need of on scene support personnel. Additionally people with clerical skills, mechanical skills, construction skills, and grant writing, are critical to the continued operation of our district. Or maybe you prefer to donate your time in an advisory or educational capacity, we can always use additional instructors or guest speakers. A positive attitude, a good work ethic and a willingness to learn is all you really need.
These are the values that make us great, inspiring them in others is what makes us SBFPD.
Legacy
By joining SBFPD, you become a part of a rich history spanning over four decades. In that time our members have served though countless wildfires, floods, house fires, natural disasters, blizzards and automobile accidents. Our legacy lies in the lives we’ve saved and the peace and security of our district. The time you give, the skills you contribute and the lives you save are never forgotten, their legacy joins those who’ve come before us and inspires those who come after us.
